Dr. Urooj Malik is a highly-skilled and experienced MBA professor at University Canada West. He holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development Management from the Selinus University of Sciences in Literature, an MS in Mineral Economics from the University of Arizona, and a BS in Natural Resources Management from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In addition, he has completed certificate courses in Management Development from Cornell University, Leading Successful Change by INSEAD, Peace Education Training Program at the University of Notre Dame, and Training of Trainers Program on Inclusive Governance and Sustainable Peace by The Hague Academy for Local Governance.
Dr. Malik is a well-respected professor who currently teaches Green Finance in the MBA program at University Canada West. He is also a professor at the Mindanao State University (MSU) and the University of the Philippines, where he teaches governance and sustainable development. Prior to transitioning to the academe, Dr. Malik was Chairman and CEO of a social enterprise working on ecosystem conservation in the Philippines. Before that he worked for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) where his career spanned over 25 years ending as Director of the Southeast Asia Department. He has also been a development consultant to the ADB, European Union, World Bank and UN Agencies.
Dr. Malik brings a wealth of experience to the classroom, drawing on his extensive corporate and non-profit background to share valuable insights on economic, social and environmental concerns. His passion for teaching and learning is evident in the way he effectively communicates and relates real-world stories to his students. With over 35 years of experience in his field, Dr. Malik is a valuable asset to the MBA program at University Canada West.
