Dr. Tara Immell is a highly accomplished MBA professor at University Canada West (UCW). With a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial and environmental risk management, Tara is an invaluable asset to the UCW MBA program.

With a PhD candidate in Mathematics Education at Simon Fraser University and a Master of Sustainable Financial Agriculture from Colorado State University, Tara is well-versed in the complexities of sustainable finance. She also holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and Mathematics from Northwestern University, which gives her a unique perspective on the intersection of technology and finance.

For more than 20 years, Tara has worked with global companies to advise corporate clients on their international business and risk management solutions. She has a particular interest in moving towards zero plastic waste in Canada and has been at the forefront of this movement.

At UCW, Tara teaches quantitative classes in the MBA program, helping students to become financially literate from personal to corporate to multinational level. Her professional experience in North America, Europe, and Asia, has been focused on financial risk management at the global level with an investment bank and has recently turned to entrepreneurial businesses in British Columbia, especially those in the agri-food industry selling at farmers’ markets.

Tara has also taught finance and green business management at Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia and Kwantlen Polytechnic University. With her knowledge, skills, and experience, Tara Immell is a valuable asset to UCW and the MBA program.
