What is GRE / GMAT?

Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is an important test for prospective business school applicants. It measures applicants’ critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, and analytical writing skills.

GMAT which stands for Graduate Management Admission Test is also another test aimed to evaluate the analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills of those who plan to apply for management programs such as MBA in English.

While having GRE or GMAT is an inevitable documenting for applying for MBA program in most universities and business schools especially in North American countries such as the US and Canada, there are still some universities and business schools that allow you to get admission without GRE or GMAT.

UBC Sauder School of Business GMAT/GRE requirements for MBA

The minimum acceptable GMAT at UBC Sauder School of Business for the MBA program is 550 with at least a 50th percentile in the quantitative and verbal sections of the test. For GRE, the applicants need to have a minimum score of 155 on both verbal and quantitative sections.

However, due to the competitive condition of MBA program admission in UBC Sauder, it is advised to have a minimum score of 650 for the GMAT or 320 for GRE on combined verbal and quantitative sections.

 

SFU Beedie GMAT/GRE requirements for MBA

The minimum GMAT score required for getting admission to the MBA program at SFU Beedie School of Business is 550. For those who want to apply for this program with GRE, a minimum score of 155 in each section is requested.

However, it is advised to have at GMAT 600 or GRE 310 on the combined verbal and quantitative sections as a competitive recommendation.

 

MBA program admission in Vancouver without GRE/GMAT

New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and University Canada West (UCW) are two education centers that offer Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs in heart of downtown, Vancouver.

Although GRE and GMAT are mentioned in both NYIT and UCW MBA program pages as academic requirements, you can get admission without those tests if your bachelor’s degree GPA (Grade Point Average) be 3.0 or higher.
