Dr. Ozen Asik (Özen Aşık) is a professor of Management and Organizational Studies in the MBA program at the University Canada West and the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).
She has a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management. OzenAsik obtained her Ph.D. at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey in 2009, and also spent a year as a visiting Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business. She has a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Marmara University and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from both Marmara University and Boğaziçi University. She has taught a variety of courses at UCW such as Business Environment, Ethics, and Strategy (as the course lead), Leadership in a Global Context, Human Interfaces, Leadership and Decision-Making, Canadian Human Resource Management, and Human Resource Management in the Global Environment. She has a strong interest in working with international students and promoting diversity in her classroom.
Before joining UCW, Dr. Asik worked as an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Vancouver for six years and then spent two years in Turkey where she earned the title of “Doçent”, the equivalent of associate professor. Her research and work have been published in scholarly journals and presented at academic conferences in Europe and North America.
